The Fathers of the Colony page 28:
John Frost, 380 acres described as "being above the path that leads from John Littler's to Abraham Hollingworth's." On September 20, 1743, John Frost sold this land to John Milbourne, and to the former description is added "the sd. 380 acres being betwixt John Littler & Hugh Parrell, and being the plantation where John Frost formerly lived". Witnesses to this deed were Alexander Ross, Thomas Wilson, John Littler, and William Jolliffe. It would appear from the records of Frederick County that John Frost owned other lands on Long March in what is now Clarke County, Va., and also lands on on back Creek in Frederick County.
It is not known when John Frost died, but the records of Frederick County show that administration upon theestate of John Chambers was granted to John Frost, with Robert Worthington and Richard Morgan as sureties, on June 18, 1748.

Chapter IV Old Frederick County page 22
" On petition of Thomas Province and others for a Road from John Frost's mill to the main road between John Littler's plantation and John Milburn's" -- Ordered John Littler, William Dillon, and Joseph Burchham-layoff the same &c."

At a February term we find a long order, Directing John Littler - the Yorkshireman and Wm. Dillon to lay out the road from John Frost's Mill to the main road between Littler's and Milburn's, in the words: - " We have laid off the road from Captain Frost's Mill thence to Buffler-lick, thence to the Backside of John Bosser's field, thence to David Shringers, thence to the usual ford, thence on east side of Wm. Frost' plantation, thence along a good ridge by a course of marked trees to Mattias Elmores, thence along said Elmores creek to the head - the best conveniensts way that can be had by widow Dillon's, by the said marked trees to the main road leading to Rappahannock - between John Littler's and Milburns."

This road started from the settlements along Red Bud and that part of Opecquon at Dix's Ford, at the farm owned by Lucien Carr, of Winchester , and thence along the main road leading to one of the gaps in Blue Ridge.
