Clarence W. Slonaker
GLENGARY, W.Va. - Clarence W. Slonaker, 66, of Glengary, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1996, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Aug. 13, 1930, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Gold S. and Georgia Dunham Slonaker.
He was employed as a Berkeley County school bus driver, retiring after 28 years of service. He also was a farmer.
He was a member of Central Chapel Church, where he served as a trustee and president of the Adult Sunday School Class.
He also was a member of Council 15, J.O.U.A.M.; retired School Personnel of Berkeley County and the Farm Bureau
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, E. Irene Bohrer Slonaker; three daughters, Vickie Davis of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Belinda Linton and Lisa Shanholtz, both of Glengary; one son, Clarence W. "Bill" Slonaker Jr. of Glengary; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl S. Slonaker and Arondell Slonaker.
Services will be held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Central Chapel Church. The Rev. Frank Douty and the Rev. Joe Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, W.Va., today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to Central Chapel Cemetery Fund, Rt. 2 Box 245 Hedgesville, W.Va. 25427 or to Martinsburg Union Rescue Mission Building Fund, 602 West King St., Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401.
Council 15, J.O.U.A.M. will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home Saturday at 7 p.m.
