William J. Sargent Sr.
William Joseph "Sarge" Sargent Sr., 74, of Winchester, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at his home.
Mr. Sargent was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Baltimore, the son of Dewey and Nora Sullivan Sargent. He was an electrician for Abex for 43 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Winchester Moose Lodge 1283, VFW Post 2123, and the United Commercial Travelers. He was a self taught musician.
He married Evelyn Virginia Milburn on May 25, 1949, in Hagerstown, Md.
Surviving with his wife, are four children, Shirley A. Todd, Barbara Sargent, William J. Sargent Jr. and Julie Baumgartner, all of Winchester; a sister, Gertrude Shelley of Winchester; a brother, John Sargent of Winchester; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Winchester. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 2123.
Pallbearers will be Randall Allanson, George Teets III, Grayson Teets, Norman Weaver, Bill Barnwell, and Rick Wilfong.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester.

Max G. Milburn
Max Grover "Dude" Milburn, 72, of Frederick County, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Milburn was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Winchester, the son of Janny and Opal V. Milburn Milburn. He was a millwright with Abex and retired after 38 years.
Surviving are four children, Cynthia Larrick, Michael Milburn, Jeffrey Milburn, and Donald Milburn, all of Winchester; two sisters, Evelyn Sergent and Shelva Jackson, both of Winchester; a brother, Ralph Milburn of Baltimore; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Jack Milburn, is deceased.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester, with Pastor Rick Kerfoot officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ralph Milburn, 81, of Lexington Park, Md., died Feb. 27, 2006, in Bethesda Naval
Hospital.
Mr. Milburn was bom May 29, 1924, in White Hall, the son of Opal Milburn.
He was married to Doris Marie Hill.
Surviving are his children, Sharyn M. Abbott of Alexandria, Gary W. Milburn of
Hollywood, Md., Richard L. Milbum of Dumfries, James H. Milburn ofLexington Park,
and Michael G. Milbum of Key West, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Sargent and Shelva Jean
Jackson, both of Winchester; and a brother, Glen Shade of Ranson, W.Va.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. June 2 at Arlington National Cemetery.

Ralph Milburn, 81 of Lexington Park, died Feb. 27, 2006 in Bethesda Naval
Hospital.
Born May 29, 1924 in White Hall, VA he was the son of the late Opal Milburn. He is survived by his wife
Doris M. Milburn whom he married on May 26, 1947 in Hagerstown.
He is also survived by his children: Sharyn M. Abbott of Alexandria, VA, Gary W. Milburn of
Hollywood, Richard L. Milburn of Dumfries, VA, James H. Milburn of Lexington Park, and Michael
G. Milburn of Key West, FL; brothers and sisters: Evelyn Sargent and Shelva Jean Jackson both
of Winchester, VA and Glen Shade and family of Ransom, WV.
He moved to St. Mary's County in 1963 from Newport, Rl. He worked as a Supply Manager for Patuxent
River. He entered into the Navy in 1941 and served for 20 years until his retirement in 1967 where he was
stationed at Holyoke, MS; Newport, Rl, Norfolk, VA, and served in WWII, Vietnam and Korea. He enjoyed
woodworking, reading and gardening.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 1:00 PM in Arlington National Cemetery.
