January 9 Thursday - Cloudy & raining this morning from the N East it rained a little most all day in evening ity snowed from N W Edna was sick all last night I went up home after mother in morning then I went after Mail in afternoon Isaiah went after Dr Miller he came late in evening
January 10 Friday - This was a tolerable cold day though somewhat cloudy the wind from East in evening I did not do anything as Edna was sick and there was several people here
January 11 Saturday - This was a very frosty morning and was somewhat cloudy most all day wind from the East, I went after Dr Smoke Early this morning to see Edna, he came both in morning and evening Charley hauled wood and went to mill and to Whitehall in afternoon
January 12 Sunday - Cloudy this morning snowed some from N E Edna still sick Dr Smoke here in morning and evening Mother fell down on the ice while going home from here and broke a bone in her wrist Dr Smoke came to see her Hunter and Luther Yeakley wer here today
January 13 Monday - This was a fair clear day the sun shone warm, our dear little Daughter Edna died today at 10 AM there was a number of persons here Uncle Joel & Aunt Susan Randall, Dr Smoke & Winton Hott and many others Isaiah went down to Thomas Barretts
January 14 Tuesday - Clear and fair in forenoon and rather warm in afternoon the wind arose and became cold from N West WE buried our little Edna to day meeting at the house at 11 oclock, we all walked up to the Church Uncle Joel & Aunt Susan & Fannie Randall Uncle William & Aunt Mary Jane and Wil Yeakley here to dinner

Mr. Oliver Milbourne died in Martinsburg
Tuesday, of Paraysis, aged about 79 years.
Mr. Milbourne was some years ago a
resident of this vicinity, and during the
late war served in the Confederate army,
in Capt. George Baylor's company.
Oliver's tombstone is badly weathered, but shows the intials "SSC".

At the home of is daughters, Misses
Ruth and Lou Milbourne, on East King
Street in this city on Thursday last,
December 3, 1896, Mr. Oliver Milbourne
aged 79 years. Mr. Milbourne was a quiet,
excellent citizen. He was born in Loudoun
county and lived nearly all his life in that
and Jefferson county. He leaves besides
his two daughters living here a son, Henry
Milbourne, who lives in Baltimore. The
funeral took place on Saturday afternoon at
3 o'clock from the Episcopal church and the
interment was in Green Hill cemetery.
